You ve already seen nike roshe the myriad models Nike has lined up for the World Basketball Festival, but what about wholly owned subsidiary Converse? Their flag bearer for the events will be the Converse Pro Leather, a high top that s been in the spotlight quite a bit lately (most notably with the Jordan Brand x Converse project). The pack promises six pairs total, three in premium perforated leather and another three in suede featuring three letter abbreviations running along the side pointing to specific stops along the World Baksetball Festival (London, Washington DC, and Barcelona). In addition to this set Converse will also be promoting the model through a series of block parties this summer going down in Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
British rapper Tinie Tempah is a well established sneakerhead, having jumped out of the gate with a nearly $40k bid on the first Nike Mag 2011s after having already made a few appearances in our Celebrity Feet feature. Tinie had heretofore been lagging behind fellow UK emcee and fellow sneakerhead Dizzee Rascal when it came to working with the Swoosh on a collaborative release, but that changes now that TT s label has crafted a special edition LunarLon Blazer. The Disturbing London x Nike Blazer Mid LR is cast in a adidas boost suede the same shade of red as the skull that makes up DL s logo (the same insignia you ll see on the tongue tag in more images below).
Not long ago Sneaker News gave you a look at the Nike LeBron ST Low, a casual lifestyle-driven take-down model from the LeBron lineage that appeared to be dated during the LeBron 8 era. Given the Lion logo on the tongue nike huarache women and outsole design, it seemed like the LeBron ST Low was perhaps a scrapped older model, but here we get a look at a new Sprite colorway in Neptune Blue and Volt (also born from the LeBron 8 era); it s been made clear that the LeBron ST Low is in fact a 2012 release, which has us wondering if Nike Basketball will continue to reach back into the past when whipping up new models. Remember, the LeBron ST Low isn t an entirely new concept, as a different version of the LeBron ST Low released back in 2007!
The summer closes out with a bang, as the last week of August wraps up today with plenty of promises of premium footwear just beyond the horizon. The Nike LeBron X continues to win folks over, with a couple new colorways and adidas eqt support even a release date popping up. Other sig news arrives from the Jordan Brand front thanks in part to Carmelo Anthony, who revealed the still un-released Jordan Melo M8 Advance. And if that wasn t tantalizing enough the retro department brought one particularly exciting preview: the first shot of next year s Air Jordan V retro lacking the 23 hit that would typically steer things away from OG orientation. Oh and speaking of His Airness, we touch on another of his classic moments via our Was it The Shoes? feature.
Andre Agassi s Air Tech Challenge series has still yet to be usurped as the most popular technical tennis sneaker of all time, but after a few retro releases and a hybrid style, we haven t seen the ATC series utilized as extensively as some of the Swoosh s other early 90s standouts. But there s no way you can look at this new style pictured above and think of anything else, as the unique ATC III and IV colors and flames have been ported over to a silhouette more in step with today s Grand Slam champions. The Nike Air Max Challenge is somewhere in the neighborhood of ATC x Courtballistec, a Max Air-cushioned lowtop that looks like it could take on the world s best at the drop of a mullet. Have a closer look, let us know how these compare to all the classic Agassis as well as Rafael Nadal s signature series, and grab yours today from TeniszPlaza or one of the select US tennis retailers who also have them in stock.
When the new lasering technique hit the scene, Mark Smith and Nike did what any young child does with a new toy they went HAM. Using the funky method to create the designs of the shoe, Mark Smith s art direction led him to an entirely seamless concept while opting for a completely laser-etched upper adidas nmd mens to create the frame of the classics Air Force 1 Low (which we all know resulted in one of the greatest Air Force 1 Lows of all-time and one of our first Classics Revisited features ever). Mark present pro surfer and artist Chris Lundy with the opportunity to do the same with the Dunk Low, but instead of working within the constraints of the Dunk Low designs, Lundy took advantage of the smooth upper and went with a completely surf-inspired theme that he s used in his artwork, with crashing ocean waves being the primary design concept of the shoe.
