DENVER -- Corey Dickerson didnt miss when he got a second chance to come through. Dickersons single to right in the 13th inning scored Nolan Arenado to give the Colorado Rockies a 5-4 win over the Miami Marlins on Saturday night. It was the second big hit of the night for Dickerson, who sent the game into extra innings with a home run to the third deck in the ninth. "Its one of the longer ones Ive seen here," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "Ive seen a few go into that upper deck but he hit that ball a long way. He can hit. Its well documented." Matt Belisle (4-6), the ninth Rockies pitcher, got the win with one inning of perfect relief. Arenado led off the 13th with a double off the wall in left field against Sam Dyson (2-1). Dickerson, who was bested by Dyson on Friday, followed with a liner to right, and Arenado easily beat the throw from Giancarlo Stanton. "Last night, bases loaded, same guy and I swung first pitch on a sinker and grounded out," Dickerson said. "I kind of wanted to see a pitch and I wanted to get a pitch up. He threw a ball down like last night, and I think he hung a changeup or a slider up and in." His teammates mobbed him near second base after he ended the 4 hour, 28-minute game. It was the sixth walk-off win for the Rockies this season. "We put ourselves in a good position, had a chance to win a ballgame and it didnt happen," Miami manager Mike Redmond said. "We had it and we just couldnt lock it up." Adeiny Hechavarria gave the Marlins a 4-3 lead in the ninth with an RBI single off closer LaTroy Hawkins. Dickerson tied it in the bottom half with a 455-foot drive off Steve Cishek for his 19th homer of the season. It was Cisheks fourth blown save. "I fell (behind) 3-1 to a guy thats an all-or-nothing hitter, and when you miss down and in to a lefty thats a power hitter, it doesnt put you in a good spot or the team in a good spot," Cishek said. The Rockies erased a 1-0 deficit in the third inning with a run on a double play and a two-run homer by Brandon Barnes. Miami got a run in the fourth when Jordan Lyles walked Donovan Solano with the bases loaded, and then tied it on Jarrod Saltalamacchias RBI double in the fifth. Lyles left after giving up a pair of two-out singles in the sixth, but lefty Rex Brothers struck out Garrett Jones to end the inning. Lyles allowed three runs on seven hits, struck out five and walked five. Miami starter Tom Koehlers only blemish was the third inning. He struck out four and didnt walk a batter in tossing seven solid innings. After allowing two singles to lead off the fourth he retired 11 of the last 12 batters he faced. The one single he allowed was wiped out on a caught stealing. POWER SURGE Dickersons home run was the 33rd to reach the third deck in Coors Field. The last player to do it was Brandon Moss on June 12, 2012, for Oakland. The last Colorado player to do it was Carlos Gonzalez as part of his cycle on July 31, 2010. "Ive done it a couple of times in (batting practice) and just joking around they tell me to do it in a game," Dickerson said. "I got a good pitch and put a pretty good swing on it." GLOVE WORK Hechavarria saved a run in the bottom of the 12th when he raced out and made a leaping catch of Justin Morneaus blooper with two outs. Had the ball fallen Rockies pitcher and pinch-runner Tyler Matzek would have scored from third. "I dont how he got to that ball. At the time, it was a huge game-saving play," Redmond said. "Its too bad we couldnt come back and flip a run out there, but it wasnt our night." DOUBLE JEOPARDY The Marlins had a rally going in the 11th when the first two batters reached. But the inning turned strange when Marcell Ozunas line drive went off the glove of shortstop Josh Rutledge. Rutledge got the ball and tagged second for one out, and Casey McGehee was caught between second and third. He was tagged out in a rundown. "I was just trying to get a ground ball out there and it ended up being a line drive," Rockies reliever Nick Masset said. "I was saying, Tag the guy, no tag the base. Just excited about the way it went." TRAINERS ROOM Marlins: No injury updates. Rockies: OF Michael Cuddyer didnt start for the fourth consecutive game because of a sore left hamstring. Cuddyer pinch-hit in the 12th and drew a leadoff walk. UP NEXT The Marlins will send LHP Brad Hand (2-5, 4.52) against RHP Christian Bergman (0-2, 7.20) in the last game of the three-game set. Bergman is making his first start since breaking his left hand in a start against Milwaukee on June 20. Fake Soccer Jerseys For Sale . This is the final meeting of the season between these teams.? The Capitals were 5-4 winners in a shootout Oct.TEMPE, Ariz. -- Expressing "extreme" disappointment in Daryl Washington, Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said he wont talk again this season about the standout inside linebacker, who has been suspended a year for violating the NFLs substance abuse policy. "He made a choice and were all living with it," Arians said in his first public comments since the suspension was announced last week. The coach said he "obviously hopes Daryl gets his life straightened out." "But he also was very unaccountable," Arians said, "to his teammates, the organization, the fans and everybody else." The coach spoke after the team resumed volunteer organized team activity Monday. Washington, who says the punishment was for marijuana, also was suspended the first four games of last season for violating the NFL substance abuse policy. He faces further potential punishment from the league following his guilty plea to assaulting his ex-girlfriend. The loss of Washington leaves the Cardinals without the two dynamic inside linebackers who were the core of the teams strong defence a year ago. Karlos Dansby, the Cardinals leading tackler last season, signed a free agent contract with Cleveland. Second-year player Kevin Minter, who played one defensive snap as a rookie, already is penciled in as Dansbys replacement. Larry Foote, signed as a free agent, will be a candidate to take Washingtons place, at least part of the time. Lorenzo Alexander, who started at outside linebacker before going down with a foot injury three games into last season, will move inside, a position he has played before and says he loves. Kenny Demens, on the practice squad last season, is another possibility, and the team is looking to sign others. "Its not imperative but we still would like to have some depth because were short now going into camp," Arians said. "Wed like to have seven inside linebackers go to camp, so well see whats available and pursue it from there." Asked if someone could be signed and become a starter, Arians said, "Hed have to earn it. Iff theres one available that could do that, Id like to have him.ddddddddddddquot; Alexander said the Cardinals still have the outstanding defensive front that was largely responsible for the success of the inside linebackers. "All those guys were taking a block to allow D-Wash and Karlos do what theyre going to do," he said. "So I dont see why thats going to change and allow us to run for the ball. ... Obviously theyre good players but it was a collective team effort that enabled them to have those type of plays and impact in games." Quarterback Carson Palmer said an improved offence should help offset the impact of losing Washington. "We have to step up," Palmer said. "When you lose a guy like Daryl and you lose Karlos to free agency, Tyrann (Mathieu) is not going to be back probably as fast as wed like, you kind of have to transform. Thats the NFL. ... Offensively we have to pick up a ton of slack. We leaned on the defence a lot last year and we expect to be leaned on this year. We need to come through and we will come through." Palmer said the players need to support Washington "and love him and try to be there for him through this phase." He said Washington needs to keep preparing as a football player through his suspension and "stay away from bad people and bad places." "Dont just sit back and relax and wait til next year," Palmer said, "because the game can pass you by." He said the Cardinals players would welcome Washington back "with open arms." "I think this locker room understands guys make mistakes," Palmer said. "Some mistakes are more detrimental than others and hurt you more than others ... I cant wait to see him. I know hes been through a lot and theres been a lot of crazy things but this locker room will give him a hug, welcome him back and be glad to see him back." Washingtons experience has been an example to the teams younger players. Minter has watched what has happened with eyes wide open. "Its like man," he said. "Id better not mess up." ' ' '
