All it took for the Montreal Canadiens to avoid their longest losing streak of the season was a return home. That and some line shuffling by coach Michel Therrien. That ended a stretch of seven of eight on the road for the Canadiens (18-10-2), who returned to more familiar surroundings with a 3-1 victory over Vancouver on Tuesday in the opener of a five-game homestand. It was far from a perfect win, though, as the Canadiens were held to a season-low 16 shots and needed Thomas Plekanecs tiebreaking goal with 4:16 remaining.
